There is so much “negativity” and chaos in this world right now. Sometimes you just have to stop and focus on what’s important to you. Most of the issues I discuss in this blog involves negative social issues. Well today I am taking a break from discussing those things and sharing with you what is important to me. What keeps me going each day.
- The first thing I am thankful for is waking up. I lived to see another day. Truly, I am thankful for that, because some people did not make it. Every day above ground is a blessing. Many of us take this for granted.
- Secondly, I am thankful for my child. I made a promise to myself that I would tell her everyday how much I love her. She is a smart, beautiful child. I am blessed to have her in my life. Every morning when she wakes up and when I tuck her in at night, I tell her how much I love her. There is nothing she can do or say to make me love her any less. She inspires me to be a better person. I am thankful for her.
- Hope for humanity. Some people say hope is a dangerous thing, but we need it. I need it. I need to believe that we can live in peace and harmony. I need to believe that the future of my child, her children, and her children’s children will be better. This is why I talk about equality all the time. I’m not selfish to just think about me. I want this for all of humanity. I want everyone to feel like they matter and are important. (Gosh, that sounds so sappy).
That is what I think about everyday. Tell me what inspires or motivate you. I’d love to hear it.
